The Club Development Officer has been provided by a partnership between the Shires of Denmark, Plantagenet, Cranbrook and the Department of Sport and Recreation. For further information on the Club Development Officer (CDO) program, please visit the following website http://www.dsr.wa.gov.au/index.php?id="1104 News from the Club Development Officer We have had workshops on grant writing, strategic planning, volunteer management, responsible service of alcohol as well as a sports specific coaching course. Clubs also have the opportunity to utilise the services of the CDO and Basil Warner with writing a Strategic Plan and implementing it in your Club. Basil has been working in the Sport and Recreation industry since 1977, so he definitely knows what he's on about when it comes to planning for Clubs. Clubs Newsletter Recently clubs have been sent out the Summer 2009 Clubs Newsletter which has information on club resources, contact for summer and annual clubs as well as profiles on some of the great clubs we have in the Great Southern. The Club Development Officer is looking to the next newsletter and would be happy to include a profile of your club to promote what your club has to offer. Alternately if you have sports champion that you think needs recognition for their efforts or achievements, the CDO would be very pleased to include an article in the next newsletter. If you would like to include, add or change your contact details please contact the Club Development Officer. Annual Surveys Annual Club Surveys have been sent out and returned. These have assisted in finding out what ways the CDO can further help clubs. The $200 gift voucher for Ray's Sportspower for returning the survey was won by the Mount Barker Tennis Club. Congratulations and thank you to everyone else who returned their survey. Also if you would like information about a Club in your area you can contact the CDO and get a contact number.
