Community Services
The Shire of Plantagenet works in partnership with the community to make this Shire a place in which there is a positive sense of our unique and diverse community. We encourage you to have your say in local decision-making, and we endeavour to create opportunities for personal, social and economic development in the Shire.
The Shire works hard to understand the social, cultural and recreational needs of the many communities that make up the Shire of Plantagenet. We believe that's the way to ensure that Council projects are relevant and well planned.
The officers work with the community in the areas of Community Development, Arts and Culture, Family and Children, Young People, Seniors, People with Disabilities, Recreation and Cultural Diversity.

The Mount Barker Community Resource Centre has been established by the Baptist Church to provide community programs and services for the Shire of Plantagenet and town of Mount Barker with commitment and integrity, utilizing a wide range of infrastructure, training and communications services that will assist the continuing economic and social development of the region. The centre is located in a Council owned building and is co-located with the Shire's library.
