Mount Barker is located approximately four hours drive south of Perth and is in the heart of the Great Southern Region of Western Australia. Here you will find many attractions both man-made and natural - sample the internationally renowned,

Complemented by ample and varied accommodation, unique dining and in close proximity to Albany, Denmark and Walpole.You can start your day with a trek or drive through the Stirling Ranges, and the Porongurup Ranges, enjoying the plentiful wildlife and gorgeous surroundings. There are many planned walks to cater for all ages and abilities. Stop by for lunch at one of our many restaurants and tea rooms before you take a tour of the vineyards. Many of the wineries provide tastings in lovely surroundings.Top off the afternoon with a visit to one of the craft galleries, or the Sir Claude Hotchin Art Gallery, located in the Mount Barker Public Library.

Horse Racing
During November to April the Mt Barker Turf Club hosts a number of events for the racing enthusiast.

Mt Barker Hill Lookout/TV Tower

Above is the view across to the Porongurups from Mt Barker Hill. The hill also has the tallest TV tower in the southern hemisphere.

Porongurup Ranges
Located approximately 20kms east of Mt Barker. Spectacular views are a reward for taking one of the walking trails to the top of the Ranges.

 

Mout Barker Tv Tower
This TV tower is the tallest in the southern hemisphere. The view from the top of Mount Barker Hill, where the tower is located, are Spectacular.

St Werburgh's Tourist Drive
This is a lovely drive through hills and dales, local vineyards and historical places of interest. Above is one of the beautiful autumn trees you'll find on this drive.
