Tourist Attractions

Mount Barker is located approximately four hours drive south of Perth and is in the heart of the Great Southern Region of Western Australia. Here you will find many attractions both man-made and natural.

Whether your tastes run to internationally recognised wines or the breathtaking beauty of ancient mountain ranges, the Mount Barker Tourist Region has these and more to offer. Enjoy the seasonal wildflowers, a proud heritage also specialist display gardens and unique craft shops. Just a few ingredients to add to a perfect holiday recipe.

The region is complemented by ample and varied accommodation, unique dining and in close proximity to Albany, Denmark and Walpole. You can start your day with a trek or drive through the Stirling Ranges, and the Porongurup Range, enjoying the plentiful wildlife and gorgeous surroundings. Stop by for lunch at one of our many restaurants and tea rooms before you take a tour of the vineyards. Many of the wineries provide tastings in lovely surroundings. Top off the afternoon with a visit to one of the craft galleries, or some of the paintings in the Sir Claude Hotchin Art Gallery, located in the Mount Barker Public Library (in the Community Resource Centre, Lowood Road, Mount Barker).
