BUSH FIRES ACT 1954

PART III PREVENTION OF BUSH FIRES

SECTION 18 – RESTRICTED BURNING TIME (EXTENDED)

Pursuant to Section 18, subsection (5B) Bush Fires Act 1954 the Shire of Plantagenet advises due to seasonal conditions the Restricted Burning Period has been extended for a further 14 days to 14 May 2024.

The fuel load across the Shire is in a dry state and until we have substantial amounts of rain the risk to the community remains high.

Please note:  Permits to burn are required until 14 May 2024. The Shire of Plantagenet encourages landowners/occupiers carrying out any burning off activities on their land, to please log their activities by calling DFES Communications on Ph: 08 9395 9209.  This will assist with volunteer resources unnecessarily responding to private Burns, mistaken as a reported fire.
