Cemeteries
There are four cemeteries located in the Shire of Plantagenet
- Mount Barker Cemetery East, Mitchell Street;
- Mount Barker Cemetery West, Mitchell Street;
- Rocky Gully Cemetery, Muir Highway Rocky Gully; and
- Kendenup Cemetery, Red Gum Pass Road Kendenup.
The two Mount Barker Cemeteries are actually one Cemetery. The West Cemetery is the new lawn cemetery that was developed when the East Cemetery looked to be filling faster than expected. The Cemetery is divided by Mitchell Street .
The Mount Barker Cemetery West is a lawn cemetery that provides the following choices:
- Lawn without Headstone;
- Lawn with Headstone;
- Family Tree Niches;
- Garden Niches for Ashes and Memorial Plaques; and
- Natural Earth Burial options.
