PARKS PRECINCT MASTERPLAN - HAVE YOUR SAY

The Shire of Plantagenet is seeking your feedback about Frost and Sounness Parks.

Otium Planning Group is developing a Frost and Sounness Parks Precinct Masterplan, after being awarded the tender at the February Council meeting.

Otium has delivered 28 metropolitan and 37 regional projects of a similar nature, led by trained urban and regional planner David Lanfear.

David has over 19 years’ experience in stakeholder and community engagement across the sport and recreation industry and has delivered several projects across the Great Southern region.

The existing masterplan was developed in 2009 and requires updating to address ageing infrastructure at Frost Park, as well as the growth of local clubs and user groups at Sounness Park.

As part of the precinct planning process, the existing facilities and their current use are being reviewed. David has been liaising with user groups across both sites, and the broader community is invited to have their say via a survey.

The survey will help the Shire understand the level of community interest and support for the potential redevelopment of Sounness and Frost Parks, including which sports and design elements are important to you.

The survey can be completed online or hard copies are available at the Shire Administration Centre and the Mount Barker Public Library.

The survey closes on 15 June 2025.

The precinct masterplan is anticipated to be delivered by midyear.
