BUILDING MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT

 

There is an exciting opportunity with the Infrastructure & Asset Services for a Building Maintenance Assistant.  This position is to provide trade support to the Building Maintenance Officer and is required to undertake a range of activities principally repairing, maintaining and monitoring the condition of Council assets and infrastructure. This is a permanent, full-time position which will report to the Building Maintenance Officer.

The successful applicant will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks including, but not limited to:

 

  • Conducting maintenance and repairs to Council Buildings and other assets across the Shire. Jobs may include, but are not limited to, joinery, carpentry, repairing furniture, doors, locks, window treatments, painting, lights and other tasks which may arise.
  • Undertake building maintenance in accordance with direction from the Building Maintenance Officer and as specified by the annual building maintenance program.
  • Assist contractors as requested by the Building Maintenance Officer.

 

Competitive conditions of employment are offered including a salary in the range of $70,846.32 to $75,302.20 per annum plus 12.0% superannuation contribution and co-contributions of up to 5%.  The appointed person will be required to work 76 hours per fortnight on a 9-day fortnightly cycle.
