The Shire of Plantagenet is looking for a dependable Waste Facility Plant Operator to support daily operations at our landfill and transfer stations. You’ll operate machinery, assist the public, manage waste streams and help keep our sites safe, clean and compliant. Predominately based at the O’Neill Waste Facility, Mt Barker with potential to work at or visit all transfer stations.
What you’ll do
- Operate plant and equipment across waste sites
- Assist customers, process payments and record waste data
- Monitor waste loads and ensure correct disposal
- Coordinate with Tip Operators on maintenance and collections
- Secure sites and report incidents or hazards
What you’ll bring
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Loader/skid steer experience
- White Card + WA C‑class licence (preferably HC licence)
- Reliability, initiative and good record‑keeping
Salary: $35.85 per hour
