Have your say on proposed Council Policy for Camping & Temporary Accommodation

Published on Wednesday, 25 June 2025 at 12:00:00 AM

A proposed Council policy that opens up opportunities for camping and temporary accommodation on private land is being advertised for public comment.

The Council Policy for Camping & Temporary Accommodation has been developed following changes made by the State Government in late 2024 and allows for:

  • Short-term camping for up to 21 nights,
  • Temporary accommodation when building a house, and
  • Temporary accommodation using a Tiny Home on Wheels.

The policy includes minimum standards for health and safety (including bushfire risk) as safeguards for campers, neighbours and the environment.
