Mount Barker Town Centre Public Realm Strategy endorsed

The Mount Barker Town Centre Public Realm Strategy will guide the creation of a more connected and cohesive town centre, after being endorsed by the Council this week.

The strategy was developed earlier this year and aims to improve physical connectivity, establish a consistent approach to public space design, and enhance liveability by prioritising health, safety, aesthetics, and biodiversity.

The draft Mount Barker Town Centre Public Realm Strategy was advertised for public comment in April. Five submissions were received.

At the May Council meeting, the draft strategy was endorsed by the Council.

The strategy is available on the Shire’s website or hard copies can be requested at the Shire Admin Centre.
