The O'Neill Road Tip Shop opened for extended hours in July: Saturdays 12-4pm and Sundays 10am-4pm.
A big thank you to the Rotary Club of Mount Barker volunteers who gave the Tip Shop a spruce up and who will be running it as part of a partnership with the Shire of Plantagenet.
Plenty of preloved items can be salvaged and resold though the Tip Shop. They accept furniture, household items, sporting equipment, art, tools, garden and outdoor products, books, electrical appliances and much more.
Please note, item acceptance is at staff discretion and dependent on item quality as well as supply and demand. The Shire cannot guarantee we will be able to take your items. In this case, we suggest you try donating to an op-shop, friends or via online options, such as Facebook Marketplace or Gumtree.
We encourage you to take a little extra time to sort your load before heading to the tip. Drop your preloved items to the Tip Shop instead of the general waste shed to give them a new lease on life instead of going to landfill.
Please note: the Tip Shop accepts electronic payments only. Funds will filter back to the local community. We hope the community supports this venture.
