Local Emergency Management Plans Committees and Roles
Emergencies are managed through shared responsibilities. The agency with legal responsibility for the hazard controls the response, while the Shire coordinates local recovery and maintains local emergency-management arrangements.
Local Emergency Management Committee
The Local Emergency Management Committee brings together local government, emergency services, government agencies, community services and other organisations. It supports local risk management, planning, exercises, information sharing and continuous improvement. The committee meets quarterly under the current arrangements.
Bush Fire Advisory Committee
The Bush Fire Advisory Committee advises the Shire on bushfire prevention, preparedness, brigade matters and related local issues. It meets twice a year under the current arrangements.
