Arts & Culture Strategy engagement

The Shire of Plantagenet undertook extensive community engagement throughout May and June to help shape its first-ever Arts & Culture Strategy.
Activities included dedicated community and artists workshops, youth activities, Indigenous engagement, pop-up consultation sessions, and an online survey. The response from the community was overwhelmingly positive, with more than 70 surveys received and a wealth of ideas, feedback, and suggestions shared.
Participants highlighted the importance of arts, culture, natural heritage, creativity, events, public spaces, local stories, and opportunities for community connection.
Young people contributed innovative ideas for future programs and activities, while artists, creatives, and community members provided valuable insights into strengthening the local arts and cultural landscape.
The Shire would like to thank everyone who took the time to participate and share their perspectives.
The feedback received will play an important role in developing a Strategy and Action Plan that reflects community aspirations and helps guide future investment, programs, partnerships, and opportunities across Plantagenet.
The next stage of the project will see SLR Consulting analyse the feedback and engagement outcomes to prepare a draft Arts & Culture Strategy. Once developed, the draft document will be shared with stakeholders and the broader community for further review and feedback before being finalised.
