Infringements and Reviews

If you receive an infringement, read the notice carefully. It explains the alleged offence, amount, due date and available options. Act by the date printed on the notice.

Your Options

  • Pay the infringement using an approved payment method.
  • Ask the Shire about a payment arrangement or extension, if that option is available.
  • Request a review and provide relevant evidence.
  • Nominate the responsible person where the law and notice allow it.
  • Choose any court option described on the notice.

Request a Review

A review request should be made in writing and explain why you believe the infringement should be reconsidered. Include the infringement number, your full contact details and copies of relevant evidence.

Evidence may include:

  • photographs, maps, receipts or permits
  • vehicle sale, transfer or nomination records
  • medical or emergency information directly relevant to the incident
  • a clear timeline and any correspondence with the Shire.

Submitting a review does not guarantee withdrawal. Personal inconvenience, not seeing a sign or being unaware of a rule may not be sufficient on its own. The Shire will consider the law, available evidence and any approved review policy.

Do Not Ignore an Infringement

If you do not act by the due date, additional costs or enforcement steps may follow under the applicable legislation. Contact the Shire early if you are unsure what to do.
