The community-led Kendenup Place Plan will guide future priorities for the townsite.
Around 40 community members helped shape a 10-year vision for the Kendenup townsite at the second Kendenup Place Plan workshop held on 23 July.
Workshop participants considered feedback from a community-wide survey and insights gathered during a guided tour of the Kendenup townsite, which explored key locations and areas of importance.
The survey and town tour identified the values that residents believe make Kendenup unique, including its country town charm, preserving and sharing local stories, protecting natural beauty, maintaining a safe and connected community, fostering strong community spirit, celebrating local history and creating opportunities for young people to thrive.
During the workshop, these values were translated into a range of priority actions. Participants also identified community groups, volunteers and stakeholders who could help deliver the actions and support the town's future development.
The outcomes from the workshop will now be incorporated into the Kendenup Place Plan, a community-led document that will guide future priorities and be owned and driven by the Kendenup community.
The development of the Kendenup Place Plan follows the Narrikup Town Centre Place Plan 2024-2034 and Rocky Gully Town Centre Place Plan 2024-2034, adopted by the Council in 2024.
