From today, all Community Resource Centre services will be delivered from the Mount Barker Library, creating a central hub for information, learning and community support.
The Mount Barker Library and Community Resource Centre new operating hours are:
- Monday to Friday: 9.00am – 5.00pm
- Saturday: 9.00am – 12.00pm
Popular programs including Tech Help and Firearms Licensing Support will continue to be offered, ensuring ongoing access to key services for the community.
Building improvements are also underway, with upgrades designed to create more space for community use. Planned enhancements include the development of a study hub and shared workspaces, creating flexible areas that support learning, collaboration and connection.
Anthony Middleton, Executive Manager Corporate and Community Services, welcomed the changes.
“These are exciting times," Mr Middleton said.
"We’re looking forward to extending the open hours for both the Library and Community Resource Centre, while also increasing our capacity to support the community through improved facilities and integrated services."
The merged service aims to provide a more accessible and welcoming environment for residents.
