The Shire of Plantagenet officially opened its Youth Arts and Culture Submission Display today at One Lowood Road on 7 July, showcasing more than 60 artworks, drawings and ideas from local students that will help shape the Shire's first Arts and Culture Strategy.
The opening also celebrated the winners of the Youth Engagement Prize. Congratulations to Daisy (Year 4), Anushka (Year 5) and Bella (Year 5), who each received a $50 voucher for their outstanding written and artistic responses, reflecting themes of inclusivity, community connection, compassion, artistic expression and cultural vibrancy.
The exhibition is open during the school holidays from 9.00am to 3.00pm, Monday to Friday, at the Mount Barker Library and CRC for the community to visit and explore the inspiring collection.
The Shire thanks every young person who participated. Their creativity and ideas will help inform future arts and cultural projects, programs, events, and community spaces.
